How to Fix JavaScript and Java Errors
Java and JavaScript are not the same thing. Before you attempt to fix the errors associated with these, you should understand the difference between the two since they require different troubleshooting steps.
Both Java and JavaScript errors are common and are easy to fix. However, they still cause problems for web developers and computer users alike. The easiest way to fix these errors is simply by downloading the most up-to-date versions of the software for your computer.
JavaScript Errors:
JavaScript is used as a programming language when developing websites. When errors are encountered it is often due to the JavaScript code that is on websites. There is really only one way to fix this kind of JavaScript error and that it to turn off your JavaScript debugging feature. This is usually the most effective way to stop these errors.
To switch off the JavaScript Debugging Feature:
- Open your web browser.
- Select "Tools" and then "Internet Options."
- Next, select the "Advanced" tab.
- Look for "Disable Script Debugging" and check the box beside it.
- Look for "Display notification about every script error" and ensure that this box is unchecked.
Your web browser should be set up to enable JavaScript because viruses, dangerous software and malware can affect the active scripting. Follow the directions below to enable your JavaScript.
Enable the JavaScript:
- Open up your web browser.
- Select "Internet Options" and then select the "Security" tab.
- Look for "Custom Level" and select it.
- A list will appear. Look for "Scripting" and select it.
- Select "Active Scripting" and hit "Enable."
- Finish and Exit.
Java errors:
Java is different from JavaScript. Java enables interactivity on your computer. It lets you use things like images, currency calculators, Internet chats, video games etc. In order to enjoy these things while surfing the web, your computer needs to have Java Virtual Machine builtin to it. It also needs to have the Java application installed.
When you try to use one of these applications and you encounter an error message it is most likely because of the Java application. Sometimes this is associated with the set up of the Java application itself. You need to make sure that you are using the correct version of Java for your operating system and that you have downloaded and installed it correctly. If you decide to acquire the most recent version of Java you will have to completely uninstall the old version. Once you have downloaded and installed the up-to-date version, make sure you shut your computer down and then reboot. This is the only way to ensure that the installation process is complete.
Even if the Java application was installed properly you should still double check to make sure that the application is enabled in your Internet browser.
Enabling the Java application:
- Open up your web browser.
- Select "Tools" and then "Internet Options."
- Select the "Advanced" tab and then scroll down to "Scripting of Java Applets."
- Hit "Enable" and then "OK."
- Exit your web browser.
