That means there is a lot to do on Facebook, you just need to make sure that you have the correct applications to take advantage of it all.

Installing ActiveX

Facebook developers use the ActiveX application to make all their features and functions available to users. What is ActiveX? It's a bit of technology, used only in an Internet Explorer web browser, that allows you to watch movies, listen to music, play games, etc. You can install it quite easily on your own, as long as you are familiar with the installation process for Facebook. For assistance, follow the steps below:

  1. Open up an IE web browser and select "Tools" from the menu bar.
  2. Select "Internet Options."
  3. Click on the "Security" tab and then select the "Custom Level" button.
  4. Search for a recommended version of ActiveX controls and plug-ins online and download the ones that you need for your operating system.
  5. Close your IE web browser and then open it up again. Go to the Facebook page that requires ActiveX and complete the process. When you are asked to hit "Allow", do so.

Additional Tips and Warnings:

If you are utilizing Mozilla Firefox or Safari then you will not be able to use ActiveX. ActiveX is only designed to operate in Internet Explorer. If you want to use certain applications within Facebook that require the ActiveX controls then you will have to visit Facebook within an Internet Explorer web browser.

If you are a novice computer user and are not familiar with the installation process for ActiveX controls you should not choose any ActiveX options that are "Not Recommended." These could submit your computer to malicious software or viruses that will cause serious problems, compromise your operating system and put your personal information in danger.

Once you successfully install the required ActiveX controls you will be able to use Facebook to its fullest.
