Learn More About Rundll Errors

A mix-up in the DLL (dynamic-link library) command results in a Rundll error. Most computer users will encounter a "Rundll" error at some point; they are extremely common. DLL files are a fundamental resource that all of your programs use. Each computer program or application cannot have its own special resources. That would take up too much room and all your programs would be competing against each other. With a shared repository, your computer becomes much more efficient. Hence, your computer relies heavily on DLL files.

Rundll errors:

If Windows tries to launch a DLL file that is missing or does not exist then you will encounter a Rundll error. The miscommunication is in the different languages that DLL and Windows speak. Windows might receive one set of directions and DLL files another. If Windows tries to launch a DLL file that contains missing pieces, there will be an error. In fact, this might even cause your system to crash.

Possible Causes of Rundll Errors:

In most cases, Rundll errors are caused by a virus hiding somewhere on your computer. Spyware, viruses or other malware will invade your computer and start corrupting files. In essence, the virus takes control over the DLL files by changing their basic structure and rendering them useless. Sometimes a virus will insert counterfeit DLL files into your computer, which further damages your system. Rundll will try and access these files, as usual, and will not be able to launch them. This is when you experience an error or your system crashes.

Resolving a Rundll Error:

One of the best possible solutions to and preventions of the Rundll error is to download and install effective anti-spyware and anti-virus software. An effective anti-virus program will locate all of the viruses on your computer and eliminate them. That being said, this solution is not 100 per cent effective in that it won't repair the already damaged files. Unless you undo all the damage inflicted on your Windows Database you will continue to encounter problems. In this case, you will also need to download, install and launch a good Windows cleaner and PC optimization tool. This software will find all of the corrupted information and restore it.
