How to Load Programs on Your Computer Faster

Most people get pretty frustrated when their computer takes a long time to load programs. If you work from home this is especially true. You want your computer to operate quickly and efficiently, like it did when you first bought it. Well, there is some good news. With a few adjustments, you can speed up your computer. Here are some options:

Option 1: Increase Your Hardware

First, you should confirm that your Windows operating system is supported by the appropriate hardware. If not, your computer will not be able operate efficiently, if at all. If you do not have the correct hardware you will need to purchase the right technology or upgrade to the next version.

Option 2: Reorganize Your Desktop

People tend to save a lot of files to their desktop. It's the easiest place to save them and it's very quick when you need to access them again. Unfortunately, a cluttered desktop can cause your computer to run significantly slower. If you see the light on your hard drive flashing every time you try to load a program, chances are this is one of the causes. Reorganizing your desktop is extremely easy. Just transfer files into "My Documents" or put them in the trash.

Options 3: Clean Your Windows Operating System of Errors

Your Windows operating system accomplishes many tasks. It is made up of files that your computer needs to launch everything from the most basic to the most complex tasks. If your operating system is damaged or infected with a virus then it will not be able to perform at its usual capacity. You can easily check to see if your operating system has errors by using the "System File Checking" utility. It scans your system and repairs your files.

You might also want to consider doing the following:

Increase the Speed of your Folder Browsing

To increase the speed of your folder browsing follow these instructions: open "My Computer" and select "Tools". Open "Folder Options" and select the "View" tab. Make sure that the box beside "Automatically search for network folders and printers box" is UNCHECKED. Hit "Apply" and then "Ok." Now reboot your computer.

Execute a virus scan

Everyone knows that viruses are an unfortunately part of owning a computer and everyone knows that they have to be careful so that they don't get one. Unfortunately, not everyone knows when they have one. Adware and spyware are particularly sneaky. They were designed to go undetected so that they can spy on you, collecting valuable and personal information. You should scan your computer for viruses and spyware regularly with a quality product so that you can remove them before they do too much damage.
